Q. Why are you doing this?
A. Because we want to encourage a new generation of innovation. You are the future of technology!
Q. Can I work with an adult?
A. Yes, but we want to make sure this is your project and not the adult's. Please list her or him as a collaborator.
Q. I'm having some trouble getting things started. Is there someone who can give me advice?
A. Visit our Stewards page and contact the steward closest to you (geographically).
Q. I'm having difficulty finding where to submit the project. Help!
A. Make sure you've created your profile first, then go here. You can also click on your Username (next to My Digital Open) and then "My Projects." You can use this page to access all of the content you contribute like Notes, Projects, Comments, and Messages.
Q. Since I can't upload my pictures and video to your site, where should I host them?
A. Please host them either on your own web space or use any 3rd-party content site where you would usually share pictures and video (e.g., Vimeo, Flickr, YouTube, etc.). Just make sure the site allows you to embed or link the content. Please avoid using Facebook for photos.
Q. How will my project be judged?
A. We have a great panel of judges who will look at your work for creativity, practicality, and overall awesomeness. Read about our judges here.
Q. How do I edit my project after I submit? it
A. We prefer that your project is not edited once you've clicked submit, so please try to make sure it's complete. If you do need to add a link or make a change, or if you would like to delete and resubmit, please message the admin.
Q. Do I have to have a project to join the community?
A. No, but we encourage you to try. We've created some other ways for you to "unlock" achievements within the community just through participation. But we would really, really love if you share something with us. If you're stuck, try teaming up with another Digital Open member!
